RACE NUMBER 1 DONE AND DUSTED! We had amazing weather and a great day out on the track. By absolute sheer volume of riders, the South smashed the North in 21 out of 28 podium spots. Way to go South! We'll find out in 15 weeks if the North can make a come back and show us what they're made of at the Spring Fat Tyre Festival at Awaba. Resullts are up on the website under the Appin 400 section.

Lastly, but most important...a HUGE thanks to everyone who donated money to the Assistance Dogs out at the race. We were able to raise $1,935.65 on Sunday, and with BHP Billiton's very generous dollar for dollar match, the dogs were able to walk away with an amazing $3,871.30!!! We stoked! Thanks again everyone, it's great to be able to help out such a wonderful organization, every dollar will be well spent.
WANNARIDE - NORTH vs. SOUTH RACE SERIES: Who's got the best track...the North or the South?? Who's got the best riders...the North or the South?? Let's settle this once and for all...two races - one in the cold (burrrrr) and one in the heat (well hopefully not too hot), two tracks - one north of Sydney and one south, two styles of trails - one technical and one flowing. Who's gonna come out on top? My money's on.....
The North vs South events are a two race series with race number one, The BHP Appin 400, at the naturally beautiful Appin cross country track on Sunday, August 15th. And to keep things fresh and interesting for 2010, we are moving race number two, the 4th Annual JP Morgan Spring Fat Tyre Festival, to a new track just a little farther north than our usual home at Ourimbah...to the Awaba Mountain Bike Park. We're super excited about all the new work the HMBA guys have been doing over the last two years on this trail. Loads of great feedback about the track and facilities have filtered back to us, so we made the call to give it a go...come out on Sunday, November 28th and race what is being described as the "Sparrow Hill" of the Central Coast. Hope to see you there!

ROTORUA HERE WE COME...
Wannaride is going back to Rotorua!!! After a three year break, our famous (or infamous) Rotorua trip is back on for the last week of February 2011. Email chris@wannaride.com.au for more details. Seriously the most fun you could possibly have on a bike. Check out this article from a recent Australian Mountain Bike magazine > AMB ROTORUA
Wannaride MTB Skills Clinics
Woohoo!! Warm weather is finally settling in and it looks like the worst winter for rain in years is soon to be a distant memory. There's loads happening for mountain biking over the next few months, but we've managed to lock in our elite team of instructors for a big weekend out on the beautiful trails of Ourimbah on Sunday October 24th. We'll be putting on one of our ever popular intermediate to advanced clinics, which caters to riders with 1+ years of experience. But don't worry, we're not looking for madmen / women, we're hoping to take a rider that has a bit of skill and boost their confidence out on the track or teach a good rider to be faster and smoother on the technical bits.
Please email chris@wannaride.com.au if you are keen to come out for a ride with us.
